remove all doubt

Today was supposed to be our day off, and of course we spent it gadding about at farmer’s markets and goofing off with Scherezade. Sometimes both at once. We’re back to selling at the market, and will be doing an evening gig in the fall that will co-ordinate with Sage visits. It should be tonnes of fun, as that kid was super excited about “being farmers” last year.

I have been trying to hangout with Scherezade all month, and was only able to achieve satisfying levels of hangouts today. We hung out at the market, ate a sumptuous lunch at the Ceili and strolled around Leslieville like we owned the place. I tried to pick up my back to school dresses from Fresh Collective, but the alterations weren’t quite right, so they’re off to be ripped and re-sewn again. I have my birthday dress, cute Spanish shoes and the remains of a pink streak that I am too lazy to normalize. I think it will be a good year.

I picked up a sampler from the outside display and headed inside to pay for it, a $20 already in my hand. A man at the door stopped me.

“Do you want to buy that?”

“How much is it?”

“Twenty dollars,” I said, handing over my bill. “Gee,” I remembered myself. “I sure hope you’re the owner. Otherwise I just gave twenty dollars to some random guy. And what if the real owner comes running out when I walk away?”

“I’ll block him for you so you can get away,” he said with a grin.
